VAGUELY IKEA-RELATED YOUTUBE VIDEO SPOTTED // “Invention Invention - IKEA Horse Meat Detector” by Tim Helbig of TimWillDestroyYou
IKEAspotting is still in retirement, but exceptions will always be made for Helbig-made IKEA-related content. Instead of Grace Helbig of DailyGrace fame, it’s her younger-and-arguably-even-more-awkwardly-funny-or-at-least-more-awkward brother Tim.
Misused hyphens and IKEA jokes for days!
Side note: Who else finds Tim’s lack of editing skills/holding up photos he printed out endearing?
Ok ok… one more post and then back to retirement! Because I’m the Jay-Z of Ikea-related blogs. And because MONKEY IN PEOPLE CLOTHES.
IKEA HUMOR SPOTTED // On The Daily What
This Looks Shopped
Of course there’s an IKEA instructional manual on how to properly dress the IKEA Monkey, a 7-month-old Rhesus Macaque that became an overnight celebrity after he was found wandering around an IKEA store in Toronto, Canada earlier this week. [via thedailywhat]
H.O.V.A out. *drops mic*
IKEAspotting is coming out of retirement for one day only because this is too awesome not to report.
Daily Grace and IKEA meet again! This time she reviews the ‘Ikea Monkey’ phenomenon. Spoiler alert: there are amazingly terrible puns.
AUGUST 1, 2011 - NOVEMBER 1, 2012
I think a personal blog and a design blog are enough for me nowadays. After 15 months and 450 posts (a post for nearly every day… I didn’t realize that until now!), IKEAspotting is officially retiring.
Thanks to my 400+ followers! It’s been a fun run.
Note: The blog will be up for a little while longer, but due to my apparent addiction to Tumblr I may have to delete it completely to avoid relapse into Tumblog hoarding. So take note of any info/posts you want to hang onto! A good place to start is over at one of the many lovely interior design/decor/fashion blogs I’ve reblogged.
Some of the IKEA products that I have taken and done stuff to.
A Good Designer- can never leave well enough alone, as they say…..
Now I really want to go to IKEA and wander around the As Is section…
After you check out Randall’s photo stream of IKEA hacks, head over to his site www.kramerdesignstudio.com to see some beautifully designed/fabricated steel furnishings and lighting fixtures. Some personal favorites of mine are this mezzanine walkway, this stainless steel side table, this oak/steel coffee table, and this fireplace.
Thanks for the submission, Randall!

GET THE LOOK @ IKEA // A low profile modular soft like the KIVIK series is great for a cozy living space like this. The clean, crisp lines can be broken up with ton of throw pillows for a more casual look.
This could be done with any number of mattresses…. but IKEA!
I actually really like that top. Where’s it from?
The shoes are pretty cute too.
